Okay, Stitch Fix. If last month was a home run, this month was more like a solid single. You did your job, you got on base, but you didn't knock it out of the park. Can you tell I'm excited for the start of baseball season? Go Giants!
My stylist (Ashley again) read my notes and used my Pinterest board for inspiration. Good to know I'm being heard and she's listening. We just weren't talking the same language. This fix wasn't a complete bust. If nothing else, I learned a little something about communication.
In case you haven't heard, Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. If you love clothes, need to revitalize your closet, or never have time to shop, Stitch Fix is for you. Click here to read more about how Stitch Fix works.
So here we go.

How adorable is this dress? I love, love, love black and white stripes. Love is really not a strong enough word. I'm obsessed with B&W stripes. There. I said it, okay? I had pinned this dress and Ashley delivered. I love the multi directional stripes. It's fun and versatile! You could wear this dress with sandals or heels, a denim jacket or a cardigan, or maybe even tall boots. The cut was great, just a tad short for my taste. When I bend over or sit down, it feels like I'm entering a risqué situation. So, after much consideration, I'm sad to say the dress is going back. If I really need a B&W striped dress, I can find a very similar, less expensive one here at TJ Maxx. BTW, who knew TJ Maxx had a website?! I only discovered this dangerous information last week.

Super cute! Constructed well of a soft, crinkle-like fabric. This tank is another item I had pinned that Ashley chose to send me. It's so beautiful and would be so perfect if it weren't so big. I feel like the neckline and armholes are hanging low. It's meant to be flowy, but there's A LOT of extra fabric going on with this top. You could make two tops out of just this one. Then I turned around and looked at the rear view. The final nail in the coffin? Bra straps were showing. I don't want to see bra straps. It's a huge turn off for me. Refer to Exhibit A for evidence of the extra fabric and bra strap. Even if I asked to exchange this for a smaller size, I'm afraid it won't work. Moving on!

Grey skinny jeans....I'm loving the concept of them! They are a year round neutral that can be paired with so many different colors. These jeans are super soft and comfortable. My 12 yr old daughter complimented me when I modeled them for her. I almost passed out from the shock that she said something nice for a change. My hang up with these? They feel more like jeggings than jeans. The front pockets are fake. Boo! The skinny jeans I received in my 1st fix (you can see them here) feel like denim and I love them. I'm wearing them right now! In the note to my stylist, I had written that I'd like to try colored denim and I was thinking cobalt or mint but was pleasantly surprised that she chose grey for me. This particular pair just doesn't float my boat. I'm not willing to spend $148 on 'jeans' (sarcastic quotes) that don't wow me.

Confession: I've been coveting this necklace. I've seen others receive it in their fix and I wanted it. I wanted it bad. I requested it in my note to the stylist and YAY I got it...thank you, Ashley! I love the 3 different clover sizes. I prefer not to request anything specific because part of the fun of this service is the element of surprise and letting a professional make the decisions. But just this once, I broke my own rule. I will wear this a lot!

And lastly...we have this jacket. My initial reaction? No. Just no. I can't. Am I a 75 year old retiree in Boca Raton? Then I tried it on and you guys...I liked it! It looks so much better on. I'm seeing this bomber style out there a lot lately so it's definitely on trend. I had a flashback to the jacket (see it here) I received last month that I almost didn't keep, and I was convinced I needed this jacket, too. But ultimately, I can't get past the color. I don't even know what to call it. Tangerine? Salmon? If this jacket was black, grey, white, navy, purple...pretty much ANY color but this I'd keep it in a heartbeat. In defense of my stylist, I had written in my note that I'd love to see another jacket. I give her credit for trying! Who knows? Maybe this color will end up being the hottest new spring hue and I'll be kicking myself for not keeping this.

Here's what I learned from this fix: my stylist is indeed looking at my Pinterest board. I'm going to clean it up a little and evaluate what I currently have pinned. I also learned that she's reading my notes and honoring my requests. I'll be sure to carefully consider what I write next month. Or maybe I'll just throw caution to the wind and let her do her thang!
