Fix #3 already and what a fun, colorful fix it was! I was oohing and aahing over each item as I pulled them out of the box. I had the same stylist again (Ashley). We are quickly becoming virtual BFFs. My only note to Ashley this month was about sizing. I feel like I'm between a small and a medium for tops. I'm a smedium. Since that size doesn't exist, I asked her to send me a small if the top is generously cut or known to run big and send a medium for more fitted tops. Like a true BFF, she listened to my needs and the sizing was spot on this time. You rock, Ashley!
I had a really tough time deciding what to keep from this fix. I knew immediately that I was keeping two items. They were mine all mine from the moment I saw them. But the others were not quite as captivating. One benefit of using a service like Stitch Fix is that I'm learning a lot about myself through this process. What I like, don't like, what fits, what doesn't, what actually looks good on me, and what I truly want in my closet. This is a major breakthrough for a recovering functionista! (Click here if you're wondering what a functionista is.)
If you're not familiar with Stitch Fix, here are the cliff notes. It's a personal styling service that's fun, simple, and set to your budget. A box of clothes and accessories chosen just for you shows up on your doorstep every month or however often you desire. It's ideal for someone who never has time to shop or dreads going shopping, someone who needs a closet makeover, or someone who just loves fashion. Wow. Just wow. How stunning is this color? It's not black or gray. Breakthrough! I knew this was going to be a winner before I even tried it on. Luckily it fit or I would've cried! I do believe this is my first dolman sleeve top I've ever owned and I think I need more. I had zero hesitation about removing the tags and wanted to wear it the next day. Did I mention the fabric? It's a light sweater-ish material. Not really a sweater, not really a cotton top. Sweater-ish. Oh and it's soooo soft! Okay, I'm done raving about this top. (Unless you want me to go on? Because I could.) This is an example of my sizing issues. Ashely sent this in a small and it fit perfectly. A size medium would have been too big and loose. High five, Ash! (Yeah, that's right. I have a playful nickname for my virtual BFF.)

Notice anything different about these boyfriend jeans? They are a slim cut BF jean. Genius! The legs are cut slimmer and they have less of that slouchy look to them. Cute, right? I loved them! They have trendy roughed up areas (not full blown holes, also genius) on the thigh and both back pockets. The fit was almost perfect, with the exception of the waist. I felt like it gaped just a smidge in the back. It was so minor and not at all the reason I didn't keep these jeans. I happen to already own a pair of KFTK boyfriend jeans and I couldn't justify this purchase. My husband tried to convince me these were technically different because of the slim cut and distressing and he's absolutely right. This was one item I had some major internal debate about, trust me. But, I love the pair I currently have and I can live without these.

This adorable top is totally in my wheel house. If you've read my previous posts, you know I have an affinity for stripes. Ashley clearly has my number! I have several striped tops pinned on my Pinterest board and although I didn't have this particular top pinned, I absolutely loved it! The color on the chest and shoulders is a dreamy peachy color and like everything I've received from Stitch Fix, the fabric was ridiculously soft. My husband said this top made me look skinny. Um, hello? With a compliment like that, I must keep it! Unfortunately, there was a slight flaw. The stripes were crooked and ran into the color block at an angle (see the photo above). Once I noticed that, it was all I could see when I looked in the mirror. From a distance it's not even noticeable but still, it would drive me crazy. I contacted customer service at Stitch Fix and asked if they could exchange it for another and sadly, they did not have a replacement for me. Their CS department was apologetic and very responsive, almost to the point of 'You can stop emailing me now, we're good'.

I'm starting to think I'm the test dummy for unique outer wear from Stitch Fix after the orange jacket I received last month and now this. There were a few positives about this vest. It's a steely blue color and it drapes nicely. It fit me well and looked equally cute both zipped or unzipped. My family voted yes and it was wholeheartedly approved of by the Stitch Fix group on Facebook. I really wanted to love this vest. It's hip. It's trendy. But folks, I'm simply not ready for something like this yet. I still have my training wheels on in the world of fashion. I didn't feel confident wearing it just to take these photos in my back yard, so how could I wear it in public and own this look? And what color shoes do I wear with it? The anxiety! Also, I went through my closet and didn't find much I could pair it with, and I refuse to keep something that will require me to purchase additional items to make it work. It was a good effort by my stylist. I'll get there someday and will be able to wear pieces like this with confidence!

What a fun POP of color! I knew this was a keeper when I saw it. It looks incredible with my dolman top, doesn't it? It's on the smaller side and can be used as a clutch or a cross body. I had to Google what 'vegan leather' meant. Basically it's a fancy way of saying faux leather. Vegan sounds much classier than fake or faux or imitation. It sounds...healthy. This bag is soft and feels exactly like leather. Despite it's smaller size, it has plenty of space with two zippered pockets and an open pocket in between the two zippered ones. I rarely buy a new purse. I have two that I use all the time but those two purses better make room for some competition!

I really enjoyed this fix even though I ultimately only kept two items. I ADORE both of them and that makes this a success!
For each fix, you write a short note to your stylist letting her know about special events you have coming up or any requests you have. I'm going to tell Ash about an upcoming trip and ask her to send me anything that screams Ireland. What do you think that will be? Green? Plaid? A rain jacket? I'm excited to see what I get and share it with you all!
