I'm so excited to share this fix with you! It was top notch all the way around. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Betsy. This gal sure does know how to put together a great fix. Check out her awesome note!
This is the dreamiest of dream notes from a stylist! First of all, she complimented my blog {blush}, so I pretty much love her already. Then, she referenced my note for this fix (I was looking for fall pieces, mentioned that navy and maroon are my color crushes right now, and I asked for a jacket). She referred back to two different pieces that I've kept from previous fixes and gave me an idea of how to pair them with items from this fix. Lastly, she mentioned my Pinterest board. Jackpot! I especially love when the stylist gives me tips for putting together an entire outfit (like Ashley did with the Xander top from this fix) because let's face it, I need someone to literally paint me a picture of what works together. She really did her homework and gets an A+ from me for this note!

This fix was full of the unique details that you often find in Stitch Fix pieces, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back for more. The colors scream Take Me to the Pumpkin Patch and I discovered flare jeans are back in style. I agonized over whether or not to keep it all. It always starts out with liking one or two items and before you know it, you've talked yourself into the whole shebang. I'm sure my fellow fixers can sympathize with me!
So what did I decide?
So what did I decide?
As I pulled this top out of the box, I saw the design at the shoulders with the contrasting fabric and the embroidery and I may have squealed a little. The embroidery is dainty and beautiful! It makes me think of Sweden.
Then I unfolded it all the way and HOLY COW it has lacy trim at the hemline and rolled tab sleeves. See what I mean about unique details?
All I could think was Please Fit, Please Fit, Please Fit and thank goodness it did because this top could not be more 'me'. When you can't wait to wear it, you know it's a keeper.

My husband and teenage daughter luuuvvved these flare jeans on me and ya'll know compliments don't come easy from a surly teenager. My husband liked the feel of the fabric, the fading, and the little L stitched along the side.
I was skeptical. Here's what I liked about these jeans: the fabric was divine, they fit well, and the light wash was cute and casual. The flare didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, although the pantlegs were a little swishy when I walked around.

So, yes I felt good in these jeans and they looked good (according to my family). However, I'm not sure I would wear them as often as I would wear skinnies, bootcut, or straight leg jeans and for $118 they better be something I'm going to wear A LOT. Could. Not. Justify.

Super soft, plaid infinity scarf? Yes, please. I'm kinda obsessed with plaid right now. Initially I was disappointed in the color scheme, but the colors grew on me as the weather is starting to feel more like fall and if this scarf had a name, it would be Fall. It's pumpkins and fall leaves and apple cider rolled into one good looking piece of neckwear.
It looks fab with this elbow patch sweater I kept from my Ireland fix! Cozy doesn't begin to describe it. I might wear it around the house just because it feels that good.

Let me start by saying, how amazing does this outfit look?! This was Betsy's suggestion from head to toe and it's banging. The olive skinnies are from a previous fix (and I seriously love them). This sweater was a beautiful little piece of craftsmanship. If you can look beyond the gorgeous color, take a gander at the crossover design in the front. Very cool, very unlike anything I currently own.
I really wanted this sweater to work. I was nuts about the color, the 3/4 length sleeves, and the longer length in the rear. But something was off with the fit. The arms were tight on me, which pulled the sweater in weird directions. I couldn't get it to lay nicely, unless I arranged it and then stood still like a statue. I do, however, really like the outfit Betsy suggested and plan to hunt down a maroon sweater to stand in for this one.

Last but not least, this jacket. Again with the beautiful details! The sleeves and sides are knit while the front, back, and that rather large collar are a heavier material and bonus feature - it has pockets. This is a beautiful piece with a good price point and I was really on the fence about whether or not to keep it. But after seeing these photos, I realized that I'm not wearing the jacket, the jacket is wearing me.
The knit sleeves were a little constricting. My stylist suggested I wear it with either top in this fix. Um yeah, that's not going to happen because bulky roll tabs or a sweater will not squeeze into those knit sleeves along with my arms. I would be limited to pairing this with short sleeves or sleeveless tops only.
My husband said this jacket looked like something an emperor would wear. Well, I do rule our little empire, so if the jacket fits....nah, I still couldn't keep it.

This was truly a great fix. Betsy did an incredible job selecting each item. Is anyone feeling disappointed right now that I didn't keep it all? Me too, but these pieces do not come cheap and the hubs has been throwing the B word around a lot lately (budget). The maroon sweater had better fit like a dream if I'm going to spend $68 on it and I can't spend $118 on a pair of jeans I have reservations about. Writing this post and looking at the photos of me wearing the clothes really helped me decide as I struggled with what to keep this month. Sweet little side effect of blogging!
